Buckle up, NFL fans.

With the new NFL year less than a month away (free agency begins on March 9), things are about to get quite interesting.

Which players will be cut to free up salary cap space for impact free agents? Which players will restructure contracts? Who will refuse a pay cut? Will the Eagles have a salary cap purge? Will the Jets move on from veterans like Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker? Will Victor Cruz remain on the Giants?

As the next few weeks unfold, we’ll track every major cap casualty around the NFL, update the projected salary cap space for each team and look ahead to what it will mean when the league year opens.

NFL free agency rumors

In Philadelphia, the Eagles could be in a stare down with left tackle Jason Peters–causing a ripple effect through the league. If Peters refuses to take a pay cut, would the Eagles simply release the Hall of Fame-level left tackle? If so, would that mean Lane Johnson moving to the left side and less protection on the line for quarterback Carson Wentz?

In New York, Cruz’s highlight-filled and star-driven tenure in blue could be at its end–signaling the end of an era. Will the Jets cast off any veterans making significant money to rebuild the right way?

Follow along with every NFL salary cap release as we count down to free agency. Consider this the calm before the real storm.
