Sixers President of Basketball Operations Bryan Colangelo responded with a statement Thursday evening to a report from Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer that Ben Simmons might not be fully healed from a foot fracture suffered during training camp.
Colangelo confirmed Pompey’s report that Simmons will undergo a CT scan on Feb. 23 and the team is closely monitoring the No. 1 overall pick in last summer’s NBA Draft’s health:

Pompey’s report comes on the heels of Sixers head coach Brett Brown saying Wednesday that the team believes that Simmons will make his debut at some point over the course of the final 26 games of the regular season.
Okafor opens up about trade rumors
“I feel like after the All-Star break, when he’s got a chance to begin practicing with us and start playing against actual defensive people and him guarding, then we will better judge on when that time frame is,” Brown said. “But I think the path right now is solid.”
The Sixers return from the All-Star break on Feb. 24 against the Washington Wizards, but it is appearing less and less likely that Simmons will be able to ramp up his practice regimen prior to that contest.
Given the uncertainty of Simmons’ injury, it certainly appears at least plausible at the moment that he will join the likes of Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel to miss his rookie season after being chosen by the Sixers in the first round.
