The Spurs have signed veteran forward/center Joel Anthony to a second 10-day contract.
The extension of the contract makes sense — at least in the short term — as the Spurs have already announced that LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol will miss tonight’s game against Philadelphia at the AT&T Center.
Anthony previously signed a 10-day contract on Jan. 23. He’s appeared in three games with the Spurs, averaging 1.3 points and 1.7 rebounds in 5.3 minutes.
Anthony earlier was in training camp this season with the Spurs where he saw action in all six preseason games, averaging 4.2 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.9 minutes before being waived on Oct. 22.
