It was revealed last week that the LG Watch Style will cost $249 in the United States. Earlier today, a source has confirmed that the LG Watch Sport will cost $100 more at $349.
The LG Watch Sport will be larger the the Watch Style, and it will come with more features. The Watch Sport is expected to to come with an independent LTE network connection, GPS, heart-rate monitor and NFC. The device will also be the first new smartwatch in 2017 to support Google’s Android Pay. The $349 price tag was confirmed by Android Police’s source.
Going through its other features, the Watch Sport is also expected to come with a better display than the Watch Style. Like the Apple Watch, the LG Watch Sport will come with a digital crown on its center button located on the right-hand side which can be used for navigating the user interface.
Although the LG Watch Sport will start at $349, its price is expected to be more expensive depending on what color or watch band customers would want for it, as pointed out by Phone Arena. LG’s Watch Urbane 2nd Edition from last year, which came with most of the same features, was actually a little more expensive with a starting price of $359.
The LG Watch Sport might be cheaper than the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition, but it will come with Android Wear 2.0 along with Google Assistant straight out of the box. The price is also very competitive with the non-LTE capable Apple Watch Series 2 which starts at $399 for the 49mm model.
Both the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style are expected to be officially unveiled on Feb. 9, the same day Google finally launches Android Wear 2.0 to everyone. Android Wear 2.0 has been delayed several times, and its release might finally reignite consumer interest in smartwatches.
