A Hill District man pleaded guilty Friday to his part in the fatal shooting of a man in 2014, according to the Allegheny Count District Attorney's office.
Jamal Daniel, 19, appeared before Common Pleas Judge Thomas Flaherty and pleaded guilty to one count each of third-degree murder, robbery, conspiracy and firearms violations.
Daniel was arrested in November 2014, five months after he fatally shot 23-year-old Andre Roberts as he sat in his vehicle June 23 on Webster Avenue. Investigators used cell phone records, DNA testing and witness interviews to tie Daniel — who was 17 at the time — to the killing.
Daniel's co-defendant, Jameel Porter, pleaded guilty last year to voluntary manslaughter and is awaiting sentencing.
Sentencing for Daniel is scheduled for April 20.
