CLEVELAND, Ohio — Fresh off their, well, perplexing appearance with Lady Gaga at the Grammys, Metallica announced they’re hitting the road this summer and performing at stadiums across North America.

The 25-city tour kicks off May 10 at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium before winding down in Edmonton on August 16.

The closest the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will come to Cleveland is Columbus, where they’ll play already sold out Rock on the Range festival on May 21. The tour, which will rely heavily on material from the band’s latest album, “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct,” will also hit Detroit’s Comerica Park on July 12.

Heavy metal bands Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira will share and rotate opening act duties throughout the tour.

Tickets to the general public go on sale Feb. 17 at 10 a.m., with a presale for Citi cardmembers and fan club members on Feb. 14. Each ticket comes with a physical or digital copy of “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct.”

Though Cleveland is missing out on Metallica, the city is hosting three other stadium shows this summer: U2 at FirstEnergy Stadium on July 1, Billy Joel at Progressive Field on July 14 and Luke Bryan also at Progressive Field on July 15.
