RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio

Petty theft, Monticello Boulevard:

A CVS employee said Jan. 26 she saw a man conceal two 36 packs of condoms in his clothing. The alarm sounded when the suspect left the store. Officers were unable to locate him. The packages were valued at a total of $55.98.

Petty theft, Beverly Hills Drive:

A resident said Jan. 31 a 200-pound homemade lawn roller, made of steel bars and a cylinder of concrete, was stolen from his tree lawn. He said he had used it earlier in the day and left it there because he planned to continue using it. He suspected a landscaper may have stolen it because it would take a few people and a truck to remove it. Officers suggested someone may have taken it because it was left on the tree lawn and they may have thought it was trash.

Aggravated assault, Richmond Road:

A boy, 16, along with his mother, reported Jan. 24 he was jumped after school by two males, who he identified by name. He was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a nasal fracture, shoulder sprain and a facial or scalp contusion. Officers were able to view video of the incident, which was posted on Snapchat. The incident is under investigation.

Grand theft, Chardon Road:

A resident reported Jan. 24 his vehicle was stolen from his driveway during the overnight hours. He said he leaves the doors unlocked in the winter because if they freeze shut he cannot get them unlocked. He also believed he left the keys inside the vehicle because he was carrying a lot of groceries into the home. He valued the vehicle at $2,800.

Traffic stop, Chardon Road:

A Cleveland Heights woman, 23, was found to be driving under nine open suspensions after she was pulled over Jan. 28 for having a non-functioning brake light. There were two open bottles of alcohol in the vehicle and she said they belonged to her uncle and it was his vehicle. She was found to have an active warrant out of Willoughby Hills and was turned over to officers from that city. She was cited for driving under suspension, brake lights required, operator’s license required and open container in a vehicle.

Criminal damage, Knollwood Trail:

A man reported Jan. 29 someone slashed one tire on each of the four vehicles that were parked in his driveway overnight. There were no suspects identified.

Disturbance, Catlin Drive:

A woman, 18, reported Jan. 29 her friend took her grandmother’s iPhone. Responding officers took the Cleveland Heights girl, 16, into custody. She will be charged in juvenile court with theft and receiving stolen property.
