PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — Marked lanes, drunk driving (OVI refusal), resisting arrest; Pinetree Road: A Bentleyville woman, 40, was stopped for weaving around Lander Circle on the evening of Feb. 9, and first had to be instructed by the officer to turn down her car stereo.

She told police she’d had a glass of wine which she felt was understandable on a Friday night — before realizing it was Thursday — and then explained she was buying a bottle of vodka for her husband.

She then accused police of trying to ruin her marriage by detaining her for field sobriety tests, which she refused to do, along with a Breathalyzer.

Officers wound up lifting her out of her Jeep Cherokee and placing her in the cruiser, as she continued to resist. She was released from the Beachwood Jail after posting $1,025.

Fraud (insufficient funds), Belcourt Road: A contractor from Hinckley reported Feb. 13 that he was doing work on a septic tank on a rental property and the landlord’s Dec. 1 check for $1,175 had since bounced.

Found property, Brainard Road: Police picked up a truck tailgate found lying in the roadway on Feb. 12 and brought it back to the village garage.

Driving under suspension, Chagrin Boulevard: A Cleveland woman, 22, was stopped by police early in the afternoon on Feb. 10 when a registration check of her Lexus sedan showed she had a suspended license. The car was towed from the scene, near Orange High School.

Warrant served, Mayfield Road: A Mayfield Heights man, 23, was picked up by police there Feb. 13 on an active warrant out of Pepper Pike for failure to pay an outstanding fine.
