Jimmy Rhodes, 68, was arrested Feb. 9, 2017 and charged with murder in the first degree in Hays County.
A Wimberley man confessed to killing his wife earlier this week, hours after she called 911 pleading for help, according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.
Christina Anderson, 67, called 911 Thursday afternoon at 4:45 p.m. and said her husband, Jimmy Rhodes, was “out of control” and that she needed help, Hays County officials said in a news release.
The call suddenly cut off and dispatchers were unable to reconnect with Anderson. Police were sent to her residence on Cripple Creek Court in the Woodcreek North subdivision in Wimberley.

Upon arrival, officers said Rhodes was found armed, walking toward the front door. He was apprehended without incident and told authorities his wife was inside. Police found Anderson dead inside the home.
Rhodes told detectives he killed Anderson. Officials said he has no prior criminal history.
Her cause and manner of death have not yet been determined.
Rhodes was charged with murder, a first-degree felony.
