Three 6 Mafia rap star brings his Rubba Band Business Tour to town. The solo artist and record producer has collaborated with the biggest names in the business and is among the pioneers of Southern style rap. “Rubba Band Business” is his fourth solo album; it’s the follow up to “Stay Trippy.” He’ll mix new stuff with his ’90s hits with his old group such as “Sippin On Some Syrup” and “Poppin My Collar.”

The legendary singer-songwriter and Nashville icon played the intimate room at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in September. He returns to the area, as he likes to say, “with new lies to tell.” Crowell will tap his vast catalog, which includes gems like “Open Season On My Heart,” “Famous Last Words of a Fool in Love” and “Jesus Talk to Mama.” He is an exceptional storyteller who counted dear friend Guy Clark among his trusted sounding boards.

The one-night-only show includes improvisation and some audience participation. It is part of The Company Theatre’s Dinnerbox Series, which offers dinner-and-a-show combos.

He burst onto the early ’80s pop scene as a solo act, literally jumping out of his bed in the MTV music video for his first hit, the catchy horn-driven “Goody Two Shoes.” High energy, glib and with a glam-inspired look that conjured pirates long before Johnny Depp, Adam Ant remained something of a novelty despite genuine cred as a UK star. He arrives to the Empire Theatre to pay homage to those high-kicking early days with a performance, top-to-bottom, of the seminal “Kings of the Wild Froniter” released by Adam and the Ants.

Bulverde S.T.A.G.E. is taking audiences to the Wild West era for “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.” Playwright Jethro Compton adapted Dorothy M. Johnson’s short story, which also inspired the 1962 John Wayne movie. It’s about a young scholar whose attempt at a new life is threatened when an outlaw targets him for death. The cast includes  Ralph Gill (left), Melina McLeod and John Hack.

Opens Thursday. 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays through March 5, S.T.A.G.E., 1300 Bulverde Road, Bulverde. No matinee opening weekend. Optional meals served 90 minutes before each performance.
