For first time, German authorities have brought a child of followers of “Islamic State” (IS) from Iraq back to Germany. As reported by research Association of NDR, WDR and Süddeutsche Zeitung, child is a 14-month-old boy who was born in territory of “Islamic State” in 2015 and has a birth certificate of IS. His parents come from Hesse and sit in Iraqi Erbil in custody. The two are being investigated in Germany and Iraq for terrorism suspicion.

Under mediation of Foreign Office, boy’s grandfar had travelled to Iraq. There he was given child with consent of Iraqi judiciary and was allowed to take it to Germany. Previously, a DNA test was made to prove relationship.
