K-pop group BTS, or the Bangtan Boys, started 2017 with a bang by topping a brand reputations for singers survey in January, and the boy band is now treating its fans to the first concept photoshoot for its upcoming album — “Wings: You Never Walk Alone.”
Big Hit Entertainment, the seven-member K-pop group’s management agency, released exclusive pictures Wednesday on its Twitter page, along with the band’s official Instagram page maintained by the agency.
The new album, which is expected to be an extended version and follow-up to their blockbuster “Wings,” will be released Feb. 13. Reports say that the band members — Jungkook, Suga, Jimin, V, Rap Monster, J-Hope and Jin — helped write and produce songs for the upcoming album.
Pre-orders for “Wings: You Never Walk Alone” went online on Jan. 25 but heavy traffic from BTS fans caused the server of music site Synnara Record to crash, Soompi reported.
The Bangtan Boys had a record-breaking 2016, winning accolades within the country as well as on international platforms. The group won the Mnet Asian Music Awards, the 31st Golden Disk Awards, and the Seoul Music Awards, among others, and also became the only K-pop band to feature on Billboard Social 50 list. BTS also made an appearance on Billboard’s World Album’s chart.
The band’s latest album, however, has a short promotional period, as BTS is scheduled to embark on a world tour in February — starting with performances at the Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul on Feb. 18-19 — with pit stops planned at cities in South America and the United States.
BTS will also perform at the upcoming KCON festival in Mexico, Billboard reported, the first of its kind in Latin America, which has a huge K-pop following.
