It’s only a few weeks into President Trump’s term, but I’m curious to know how Trump voters are feeling so far. Happy with the “progress?” America’s “great again,” isn’t it?
This is the worst opening two weeks of a new president’s term in history. And the blame should be on Trump voters as much as on Trump himself.
We all had a good, long look at Trump during the year-and-a-half election season.
He was an incompetent buffoon throughout. He was racist. Boorish. Childish. Insecure.
At times he acted like Nixon during Watergate, just completely unstable psychologically. Paranoid, in many ways. Delusional.
Remember the cyberbully’s 3 a.m. tweets against the former Miss Universe contestant? When he called her a “con,” “disgusting,” and “the worst?” What a joke.
And now, just two weeks into his presidency, where are we? He’s already turned our reputation abroad back into the laughingstock it was eight years ago, when the last Republican president — Daffy Duck — left office.
And anyone who thinks the rest of the world restricts their negative views and attitudes to Trump alone is fooling themselves. All of America — each and every one of us — is now viewed differently. Thanks to Trump voters, we’re all tied to his bigotry and hate. We’re all tied to his misogyny. We’re all tied to his naive simple-mindedness.
Chaotic scenes from our airports after the immigration order were pathetic. And regarding his relations with foreign leaders? Equally disastrous.
This is not going to end well.
Thanks, Trump voters.
